What you can do in the showroom
(1) Experience vibration and sound

Reproduction of long-span steel-framed floors that are prone to swaying
It is made to be close to the characteristics of long-span steel-frame floors, where vibration problems often occur relatively frequently. (Natural frequency: 6 Hz, damping: 21 TP3T to reproduce a floor where vibrations are not easily contained.)
The vibration simulator reproduces a wide range of vibrations, from walking and running to fitness and longitudinal motions, vibrations of equipment and machinery, and traffic vibrations of large vehicles and trains, allowing visitors to experience the shaking of the floor that they feel inside the building.

Reproduces the wind sway of a mid-rise building
Horizontal swaying is something that few people have the opportunity to experience in their daily lives, and some say it is difficult to explain the sensation in words, so we have prepared a place where people can feel it for themselves.
With the specifications of the planned or actual building, you can reproduce the shaking during high winds and experience the effects of the measures taken with the vibration control system.

Reproduction of swaying when walking on steel stairs
Steel staircases with a high design quality can be light but also have slimmer components, which can increase the sway of the staircase and cause anxiety and fear for people ascending and descending the staircase or standing on it.

Quantify human gait and sway
You can experience vibration in accordance with the "Habitability Evaluation Criteria (Guidelines)" of the Architectural Institute of Japan, which is used to evaluate floor shaking. By linking the vibration evaluation with your own senses, such as the degree of concern, discomfort level, V-V, H-IV, etc., which are difficult to visualize with only numerical values and words, you can better understand the vibration.

Shows the effectiveness of vibration reduction using vibration control devices
Visitors can actually move the AMD/TMD for vertical vibration and experience the degree to which vibration can be reduced.
Also on display is a miniature model of a horizontal AMD for wind sway and traffic vibration control in mid-rise buildings. Please come and see how the building's swaying quickly subsides with its superior vibration control performance.
(2) View and touch products

Know the actual size and fit
Various types of vibration control and seismic isolation devices are on display. Some of them are actually on display so that visitors can actually move them and check their operation.

Confirmation of target design values

If you have any of these questions, please send your excitation force data to Yacmo. Our staff will faithfully reproduce the floor acceleration!
Please use the actual vibration experience to link simulation results with your experience and to confirm target design values.

Explanation to the client
In environmental vibration design, the process by which the designer explains and obtains agreement from the building owner is important.
However, vibration is felt differently by different people, and some people find it bothersome even when it is generally considered not to be bothersome. In some cases, after the construction, people have trouble saying, "I didn't think the vibration would be this loud.
To prevent this from happening, please have the client experience the actual vibration and use it as an explanatory material for the target design values!

We hold seminars on an irregular basis for young employees and those who want to learn the basics of vibration and sound.
