The world of fashion is constantly changing, and it can be difficult to keep up. But there are a few key trends that have emerged in recent years. One of these trends is the increasing popularity of sustainable fashion. This means that more and more people are choosing to buy clothes that are made from eco-friendly materials and produced in an ethical way. Another trend is the rise of "athleisure." This is a style of clothing that blends athletic wear with everyday fashion, allowing people to be comfortable and stylish at the same time. Finally, we're seeing a growing interest in vintage and secondhand clothing. This trend is driven by a desire for unique pieces and a rejection of fast fashion. These are just a few of the many trends that are shaping the fashion industry today.
(funaki)Thank you very much for taking on the web design and logo development for the Yacmo Group. We were introduced to you by Mr. Umezawa, and I imagine there was a lot of pressure on you to change the brand image of the Yacmo Group. Could you tell us why you decided to take on this project?
(Mr.umezawa)First of all, thank you very much for allowing me to design the logo and website that will be part of the face of your company. This was a very big responsibility for a designer, but at the same time a very rewarding job.
First of all, as a designer, it is my premise that I basically never turn down a job that I am approached to do. Even if the genre of the work is different, or the type of business is seemingly different, the fact that I am approached indicates that a connection has been established through some kind of transmitter, whether it is a spark from the influence of substances in my brain or a weak electrical signal. I have always valued this connection, and I find it very interesting that unexpected communication is born from it.
When I was asked to join the company this time, I was in a similar situation. I felt intuitively that manufacturing products for a company that is active in the unknown genre of vibration isolation, soundproofing, and seismic isolation would be a challenge for me, and that something new would be born, so I accepted the offer with high expectations.
(Funaki) I was very much looking forward to having a person from a different industry design the new product, which would be a great change from what Yakumo had been doing up until now.
I am sure you had to do a lot of research on our business and the atmosphere in our company in order to design it, but what was your actual impression of Yacmo?
(Mr. Umezawa) My first impression of the company was that it was very solid and stoic in its manufacturing.
I also got the impression from the description on the website and from the people I met that the employees are working with confidence and pride.
President Funaki is also a doctor of engineering, and at first I was nervous that he would be very harsh, but as we talked more and more, I remember that his soft smile gave me the impression that he is a very open-minded person.
(funaki)Thank you for your kind words.
Solid, stoic, and monozukuri (craftsmanship) are similar to Umezawa's.
As with any work, but especially Yacmo's technology, we all take pride in our work and are steadfast in our efforts. I am sure that this was reflected in the logo. What did you have in mind when you reflected this?
(Mr. Umezawa) First of all, we first considered why we were changing, why we needed to change, and what the future would look like after the change. Then, we drew a picture of the future in which the new logo would expand recognition of the company name and make people feel more familiar with the company's products, as well as the image of unknown technologies being researched and developed in unknown places, even though they are in a sense very essential to our daily lives, such as vibration isolation, soundproofing, and base isolation.
Therefore, we wanted the symbolized logo to be rounded and friendly, and to represent Yakumo-sama's attitude toward society.
(funaki)I was expecting and worried that it would be a hard logo that expressed pride and solidity, but I thought the logo you created was very friendly and at the same time very particular. It is very similar to our company's technology, and we are very happy with it as the first step toward becoming a 100-year company.
What was the most important point that you were concerned about?
(Mr. Umezawa) What was important, after all, was to create a memorable shape that anyone who sees the logo, from adults to children, would remember and draw, but also a shape with complex details that even a professional designer would take time to trace in exactly the same way.
We were also concerned about the shape of the building, which expresses the origin of Yacmo-sama's name, "Yacmo = overlapping clouds," as simply as possible, and the design incorporates a structure in which vibration, soundproofing, and seismic isolation projects support life from the footing up.
(funaki)It was very helpful to hear directly from Mr. Umezawa about his thoughts on the logo creation. With the new "Cloud Y" logo, the Yacmo Group, which supports society, will continue to work together to make great strides in the future.
Thank you for your continued support.
